Gash Breaks Ground Ball Record in 10-6 Win over FDU-Florham

Center Valley, PA (April 9, 2025) - Senior Anthony Gash won 14-of-18 faceoffs and had eight ground balls leading the DeSales University men's lacrosse team past FDU-Florham, 10-6, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

  • DeSales wins its fifth straight in the series and improves to 9-17 all-time vs. the Devils.
  • Gash now has 102 ground balls on the season giving 367 in his career surpassing Brendan Guerrier for the all-time lead.
How it Happened
  • DeSales was in control of this one early opening up a 4-1 lead four minutes into the second quarter.
  • Penalties began to hurt the Bulldogs as the Devils scored two man-up goals to end the half pulling within a goal (4-3) at the break.
  • Each team scored once in the third quarter and FDU scored first in the fourth quarter to tie the game at five.
  • Senior Pat Schuett and junior Jake Hurd answered the Devils tying the game with two goals in the span of six seconds to give DSU a 7-5.
  • DeSales scored two more goals to take a 9-5 lead and never looked back from that point.

  • Gash finished the game with 14 faceoff wins, eight ground balls, and an assist.
  • Senior Nate Perry had three goals and two assists.
  • Schuett and Hurd each scored twice.
  • Senior Hunter Waldron made eight saves in between the pipes.
