Seven Players Earn All-Conference Honors for Women's Lacrosse; Broxterman Named Coach of the Year

Annville, PA (May 7, 2025) – Seven players of the DeSales University women's lacrosse team were named All-MAC Freedom All-Conference and head coach Samantha Broxterman received Coach of the Year honors as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning and as voted on by the eight MAC Freedom coaches.

Senior Jess Brey and junior Emma Williamson led the way being named to the All-MAC Freedom First-Team. Seniors Meagan Landers and Michaela Regan along with junior Christina DiGuglielmo were each named to the All-MAC Freedom Second-Team. Juniors Bridey Lawler and Danielle Sieja earned Honorable-Mention All-MAC Freedom honors to round out the nominees.  

Brey receives All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season, marking the first time she appears on the First-Team. She ended her senior year with yet another breakout season as she led the team in goals (57), breaking the all-time career goals record along the way with 127 goals scored. She also led DeSales with 62 draw controls won, making her the all-time program leader with 172 career draw controls. Brey finished third on the team in assists (21) and 78 points (second most in a season in team history). She ends her career currently ranked first all-time in goals (127), first in draw controls (172), third in points (168), and fourth in assists (43).

Williamson earns All-Conference honors for the third straight season, making her first appearance on the First-Team. She finished sixth on the team in goals (32) and points (41). Williamson led the Bulldogs picking up 70 ground balls (second most in a season in team history) which broke the all-time career program record as she sits at 154 ground balls heading into her senior year. On the defensive side of the ball, Williamson finished second in caused turnovers with 13.

Landers gets the All-Conference nod for the second time in her career after being named All-MAC Freedom Honorable-Mention a season ago. She finished her senior year tied for third on the team in goals (38) and fifth in points (47). Landers was also second on the team with 54 draw controls. She ends her career currently ranked second all-time in goals (126), second in draw controls (157), fourth in points (164), third in caused turnovers (57), and has played the most career games (69).

Regan makes her first appearance on the All-Conference team, after a solid season in between the pipes for the Bulldogs. She posted an outstanding 14-3 record with a 7.78 GAA (best GAA in a season in team history) while making 92 saves. Regan led the conference with a .487 save percentage which is also the best save percentage in a season in team history. She ends her career currently ranked first all-time in GAA and saves (476).

DiGuglielmo also makes her first appearance on the All-Conference team, after a junior campaign that went down as one of the best seasons for a player in team history. She broke the single-season scoring record with 104 points and shattered the single-season assists record with 66. Her total points and assists also ranked first in the conference. DiGuglielmo was tied for third on the team with 38 goals scored and fourth in draw controls with 33. She currently ranks first all-time in career points, first in assists, and ranks fifth in goals heading into her senior year.

Lawler and Sieja also join the group of nominees making their first All-Conference team appearance. Lawler finished fourth on the team in scoring with 50 goals and 10 assists for 60 points. Sieja finished eighth on the team in scoring with 22 goals and 10 assists for 32 points. She was also very active on the defensive side of the ball as she caused a team-leading 45 turnovers which is the most in a single-season in team history.

Head coach Samantha Broxterman earns Coach of the Year honors in just her second season with the team. She guided the Bulldogs to the most wins in a single-season in team history (15) and is now the all-time winningest coach in program history with 25 wins. Under her coaching this season, the Bulldogs saw seven players make the All-Conference team while breaking multiple team records. DeSales recorded their first-ever shutout win, tied the single-game goals record (24), tied the single-game assists record (17), broke the single-game points record (41) and set a new one in another game (42), broke the single-season assists record (197), and won a team-record 10 straight games to open the season which was also the longest winning streak in program history.
