Gwynedd-Valley, PA (August 29, 2025) - The DeSales University men's soccer team dominated its season opener with a 4-0 win at Gwynedd-Mercy University in non-conference action on Friday afternoon.

• Final Score: DeSales - 4, Gwynedd-Mercy - 0
• Records: DeSales (1-0-0); Gwynedd-Mercy (0-1-0)
• DeSales remains unbeaten all-time vs. the Griffins improving to 20-0-1 in the series.

How it Happened

• The Bulldogs opened the scoring just 4:27 into the game as first-year Landon Lentz headed home a ball that was cleared in the air by a Griffin defender and just snuck over the hand of the GMU goalkeeper.
• DSU made it 2-0 in the 20th minute when senior Bryan Flor showed tremendous hustle pushing home a loose rebound after a header was saved from first-year Jacob Stewart at the goal line.
• DeSales then took a 3-0 advantage into the half as sophomore Peter Cardinale saw his centering pass glance off a Griffin defender into the net in the 28th minute.
• The final goal came in 54th minute when senior Kevin Krall scored on a nice centering pass from Stewart.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Stewart finished with two assists in the game.
• It was Krall's sixth career goal and Flor tallied his sixth career goal as well in the win.
• Cardinale scored for the second time in his career.
• Sophomore Jimmy Shensky made two saves in goal. 

For the Foes

• Ethan Zimmerman had 10 saves for the Griffins.

• DeSales dominated play with a 27-4 advantage in shots.
