Chester, PA (August 30, 2024) - The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its 2025 season opener, 8-1, to #2 William Smith College on Friday afternoon.

How it Happened

• William Smith scored in the 11th and 15th minute of the game to take a 2-0 lead.
• DSU cut the margin in half in the 34th minute when senior Rebecca Bury took the ball away from a midfielder, dribbled down the sideline and found first-year Emily Mulroony for DSU's first goal of the year.
• It remained a one goal until the 42nd minute when William Smith got two goals late to take a 4-1 lead at the half.
• The Herons controlled the second-half scoring four more times to post the final margin.
