CENTER VALLEY, PA (August 30, 2025)– The DeSales University Bulldogs field hockey team opened the 2025 season with a 4-2 over Moravian at home, on Saturday afternoon.  

The Basics 

• Final Score – DeSales University 4, Moravian University 2 

• Team Records – DeSales University (1-0), Moravian University (0-1) 

How it Happened  

• DeSales University scored their first goal late in the first period when sophomore Stephanie Pallente tipped a shot in the box over the GK's head and into the cage. 

• After Moravian tied the game at one, junior Alina Culver scored on a shot from the of the circle after a pass from senior Morgan Benner off a corner feed to give DSU the lead back. 

• DeSales added two more goals to take a 4-1 lead as senior Nikki Chiaradia tipped home a shot from sophomore Mia Carder and sophomore Abigail Antipas scored unassisted in the fourth. 

• Moravian got a penalty stroke goal in the fourth to post the final tally. 

Top Bulldog Performers  

• The goals for Antipas and Culver were the first in a Bulldog uniform. 

• Pallante tallies her second career goal and Chiaradia her 10th in her career.  

• The Bulldogs had three assists from three different athletes throughout the game, Meghan Dahl, Benner, and Carder all were credited with assists.  

For the Greyhounds 

• Goalkeeper Maia Machado finished the game with seven saves from 11 shots on goal.  

• Gia Ambrosino contributed both of the goals for the Greyhounds, both unassisted.  

Inside the Box Score  

• DeSales enjoyed the 20-2 advantage in shots, 12-2 shots on goal. 

• DeSales also had a large lead in penalty corners, 14-3.

• The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday, Sept. 3 back in Center Valley hosting The College of New Jersey at 6:00pm.
