Late Goals Spoil Upset Bid in 4-1 Loss to #23 TCNJ

Center Valley, PA (September 3, 2025) - The DeSales University field hockey team tied the game late in the third quarter but #23 TCNJ scored three late goals to spoil the upset bid in a 4-1 loss to the Lions on Wednesday evening.

  • The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-6 all-time vs. the Lions. 
How it Happened
  • After a scoreless first quarter the #23 Lions scored on its first penalty corner of the game two minutes into the second quarter as that score stood into the half.
  • DeSales controlled most of the third quarter and finally broke thru for the tying goal 11 minutes into the third quarter as senior Brynn Balliet pushed across a shot amongst a ton of traffic in the goalmouth.
  • The Lions needed just 29 seconds to reclaim the lead and added two more goals in the fourth quarter.

  • The goal was Balliet's first of the year.
  • Sophomore Stephanie Pallante earned an assist on the play.
  • Junior Alyssa Schlossman made six saves in between the pipes.
For the Foes
  • Codie Sciacca had a goal and two assists for TCNJ.
  • Jadyn Huff also scored and Kara Wilson had two goals.
  • Brigitte Racey made eight saves for the Lions.
