MacDonald Scores Four Times in 6-1 Win over PSU-Berks

Reading, PA (September 16, 2025) - Senior Liam MacDonald scored four goals leading the DeSales University men's soccer team to a dominating 6-1 win over PSU-Berks on Tuesday evening.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 6, PSU-Berks - 1
  • Records: DeSales (3-3); PSU-Berks (0-7)
  • DeSales remains unbeaten all-time vs. the Nittany Lions improving to 4-0-1 in the series.
How it Happened
  • Senior Kevin Krall got the scoring started in the 19th minute knocking home a rebound of a saved shot.
  • MacDonald made it a two goal game just 1:20 later blasting home a centering pass from first-year Jacob Stewart.
  • MacDonald netted his second goal just 46 seconds later after a beautiful pass from first-year Landon Lentz and that score stood into the half.
  • MacDonald made it three straight goals to start the second-half before the Nittany Lions got a goal back on a PK in the 56th minute.
  • MacDonald tallied his fourth goal in the 67th minute on a header after a pass into the box from junior Jake Moyer.
  • Sophomore JohnPaul Mazza finished off the scoring with 58 seconds left on an assist from first-year Osmar Ferre.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • MacDonald's four goals are the sixth time in team history a player has scored four or more goals in a game.
  • Krall nets his second of the season and it was Mazza's first goal of the year.
  • Stewart had two assists in the game, while Lentz, Moyer, Ferre, and sophomore Larry Sullivan all also had helpers.
  • Sophomore Jimmy Shensky made two saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
For the Foes
  • Callan Stuck had PSU-Berks lone goal.
  • Josh Martin had nine saves in goal.

  • DSU dominated the shot chart, holding a 37-3 advantage in shots, 21-3 in shots on goal.
