Volleyball Splits Two Five Setters on Day Two of Neumann Invitational

Aston, PA (September 6, 2025) - The DeSales University volleyball team split two five set matches on day two of the Neumann University Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Match #1 (W/3-2 vs. Widener)
Widener took a 1-0 lead controlling the first set with a 25-15 win. The Bulldogs rebounded with a 25-20 second set win winning the final four points of the, including two kills from sophomore Allison Reimer. Tied at 19 late in the third set, DSU scored the final six points to take a 2-1 lead (25-19). The Pride dominated the fourth set, winning 25-17, to force the fifth set.  The fifth set was back-and-forth. Tied at 10, Widener took a 12-10 lead, before the Bulldogs fought back to tie the set at 14. A bad set from the Pride set up match point and sophomore Maddie Sandt had a kill to clinch the win.

Reimer and Signorella each had 16 kills to lead the attack. Reimer hit .324 and added a team-high 22 digs in the win. Sophomore Kylie Campbell had 19 digs and sophomore Ashlyn Dinan totaled a team-high 25 assists and added eight digs.

Match #2 (L/2-3 vs. Neumann)
Neumann led 24-19 before DeSales fought back to 24-23, but a service error gave the Knights the win. DSU controlled play in the second set winning 25-18. The third set was much like the first one with Neumann holding a 24-20 lead, DSU fought to within one (24-23), before a Knight kill gave them the win. The Bulldogs once again responded with a 25-17 win in the fourth set but Neumann scored the first four points of the fifth set and the Bulldogs were never able to recover.

Reimer, Signorella, and Sandt each had 13 kills to lead DeSales. Reimer hit .211 and added 16 digs and Sandt had 10 digs. Dinan finished with 29 assists and 11 digs and Campbell had 13 digs.

Senior Joy Kindall had nine kills and junior Jocelyn Castro finished with seven kills and four blocks.

Reimer was named to the All-Tournament Team from the Bulldogs.

DSU is back in action on Wednesday when they host Franklin & Marshall College beginning at 7:00 pm.
