Defense Carries Women's Basketball to Road Win at Delaware Valley

Doylestown, PA (January 10, 2026) - The DeSales University women's basketball team held Delaware Valley University to just 30.8 percent shooting leading to a 52-45 win in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 52, Delaware Valley - 45
  • Records: DeSales (8-5, 2-0 MAC Freedom); Delaware Valley (5-8, 0-2 MAC Freedom)
  • DeSales extends its win streak over the Aggies to 20 straight and are now 64-15 all-time vs. Delaware Valley.
How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs were quick out of the gates scoring the first eight points of the game and opened up a 14-2 lead as sophomore Aubrey Pollard scored 10 of the first 14 DeSales points.
  • The Aggies got within five points midway thru the second quarter before DSU pushed the margin back up to 11 points as DeSales enjoyed a 31-21 halftime lead.
  • Leading by six early in the third quarter, the Bulldogs used a 10-0 run to take a 41-25 lead and led by 12 after three quarters of play.
  • Delaware Valley chipped away at the margin in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs went cold from the field, getting within four (49-45) with 4:13 left.
  • The Bulldogs tightened the defensive clamps the rest of the way not allowing another point to earn the 52-45 victory.

  • Pollard finished the game with a double-double totaling 16 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Senior Mikaili Donmoyer added 11 points.
  • Senior Sammi White had nine rebounds and four steals.
  • Sophomore Marissa LaVerghetta totaled seven points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
For the Foes
  • Whitney Evans led the Aggies with a game-high 18 points.
