Defense Carries Men's Basketball Past Lebanon Valley, 76-68

Center Valley, PA (January 14, 2026) - The DeSales University men's basketball team held Lebanon Valley College to just 36.8 percent shooting in a 76-68 win in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 76, Lebanon Valley - 68
  • Records: DeSales (8-6, 3-0 MAC Freedom); Lebanon Valley (3-11, 1-2 MAC Freedom)
  • DSU takes 13-12 lead in the all-time series with the win.
  • DeSales has now won four straight and is the lone unbeaten team in the MAC Freedom standings thru three games.
How it Happened
  • DeSales jumped out to a 10-3 lead thanks in part to two 3's from sophomore Luke Keppel over the first five minutes of the game.
  • The first-half lead grew to nine points (16-7) before LVC charged back with a 19-5 run to take a 26-21 lead with 3:28 left in the opening half.
  • The lead grew to six but a three-point play from sophomore Jayden Thomas cut that in half as both teams headed to the locker room with the Flying Dutchmen holding a 36-33 advantage.
  • The Bulldogs were the aggressor early in the second-half scoring the first 13 points, including 10 by Thomas, highlighted by a dunk after a steal at the 17:33 mark to give DSU a 46-36 lead.
  • LVC answered with eight straight points to trim the deficit to two and the game went back-and-forth over the next six minutes.
  • A three from senior Will Meeker doubled DSU's lead to six and it remained six till a three-point play from LVC at the 2:41 mark.
  • A free throw from sophomore Robbie Ruisch was followed by a defensive stop and first-year Theo Galdue hit a big three-pointer on the next possession to give DeSales a 71-64 advantage with 1:42 to go.
  • Another Thomas jumper pushed the lead back to seven with under a minute left and DSU iced the win from the free throw line.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Thomas had another outstanding performance with 29 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
  • Keppel was terrific with 15 points and seven assists, while not committing a turnover.
  • Senior Chris Edwards produced six points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.
  • First-year Riley Buzby hit three 3's off the bench.
For the Foes
  • Giovanni Sejuste had a double-double off the bench with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Tyler Kerlin added 19 points, also off the bench.
Inside the Box Score
  • DSU shot 50 percent from the field and was 11-for-23 from outside the arc.
  • LVC had 54 points from its bench in the loss.

  • The Bulldogs are back on the court on Saturday when they travel to Stevens for another important MAC Freedom road game beginning at 3:00 pm.
