Balanced Attack Carries Women's Basketball Past Misericordia, 74-38

Center Valley, PA (January 24, 2026) - The DeSales University women's basketball team shot a season-best 56.4 percent from the floor as six different players scored eight or more points in a 74-38 win over Misericordia University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • Misericordia led early (6-4) before the Bulldogs slowly built a four-point (15-11) advantage at the end of the first quarter.
  • Tied at 15 early in the second quarter, DSU scored 10 straight points to take a 25-15 lead and led by 11 at the halftime break.
  • Senior Mikaili Donmoyer and sophomore Kayla Ishigami hit back-to-back 3's during the run.
  • The second-half was all DeSales, out-scoring the Cougars 43-18 over the final 20 minutes to secure the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Donmoyer led all scorers with 17 points, hitting 3-for-4 from outside the arc.
  • Senior Sammi White had her first double-double of the season totaling 12 points and 11 rebounds, adding five assists and four blocked shots.
  • Ishigami came off the bench to score 16 points, one shy of her career-high, adding four assists.
  • Sophomore Aubrey Pollard had nine points and eight rebounds, fellow sophomore Marissa LaVerghetta finished with eight points, seven assists, and six steals, and senior Lindsay Bednarek added eight points and five assists.

  • Morgan Janeski led the Cougars with nine points.

  • DSU torched the nets at a 56.4 percent clip, the first time shooting north of 50 percent this season.
