New Orleans, LA (January 29, 2026) - Sophomore
Ellie Kozich and the DeSales University women's cross country team were each honored as a USTFCCCA All-Academic athlete and the team recognized as a group for its academic achievements as announced by the organization on Thursday.
In order to qualify as a team for All-Academic, the team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers. DeSales qualified with a 3.45 GPA.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction as an individual, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
Kozich earns this honor for the second straight season as she placed fourth at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships and has a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA as a medical studies major.
