Women's Basketball Falls to #24 Shenandoah

Winchester, VA (January 3, 2026) - The DeSales University women's basketball team dropped a 58-42 decision at #24 Shenandoah University in the Bulldogs final non-conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Shenandoah - 58, DeSales - 42
  • Records: DeSales (6-5 Overall); Shenandoah (10-1 Overall)
  • DeSales drops its first game in the all-time series with the Hornets falling to 8-1 all-time.
How it Happened
  • DeSales started quickly in this one taking a 6-4 lead on three baskets from senior Lindsay Bednarek but went ice cold over the final 7:58 of the quarter scoring just two more points on a bucket with one second to trail 21-8.
  • The Bulldogs rallied to get within seven points (26-19) midway thru the second quarter before Shenandoah scored the final four points of the half to lead 34-22 at the break.
  • Trailing by 16 points early in the third quarter, DSU used an 8-0 run to get within 40-32 on a 3 from sophomore Kayla Ishigami with 4:45 left in the quarter.
  • Once again the Hornets finished the quarter strong with six straight to lead by 14 and the Bulldogs were never able to get any closer than 10 in the fourth quarter.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Bednarek led the Bulldogs with 13 points, adding two steals.
  • Ishigami had 11 points off the bench.
For the Foes
  • Addisyn Banks totaled 12 points and Emily Williams has a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
  • Brynna Nesselrodt also had double figures with 11 points.
Inside the Box Score
  • Shenandoah dominated the glass out-rebounding DSU, 43-27.
  • DeSales shot just 32.1 percent from the floor.

  • DSU is back in action on Wednesday when they host FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom action beginning at 6:00 pm.
