Men's Basketball Second-Half Comeback Falls Short in Loss to Arcadia

Center Valley, PA (February 11, 2026) - The DeSales University men's basketball team erased a 14-point halftime deficit to tie the game late but fell short in a 69-65 loss to Arcadia University in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Arcadia - 69, DeSales - 65
  • Records: DeSales (13-9, 8-3 MAC Freedom); Arcadia (16-6, 9-2 MAC Freedom)
  • Arcadia earns a sweep of the season series as the Bulldogs fall into third place in the MAC Freedom standings with three more games left in the regular season.
  • DSU is now 21-14 in the all-time series with Arcadia.
How it Happened
  • DeSales was in control of this one early opening up a 17-11 lead after a three-point play from sophomore Jayden Thomas. seven minutes into the game.
  • DSU maintained a three-point advantage at the 7:18 mark when Arcadia caught fire finishing the half on a 22-5 run to take a 44-30 lead into the halftime locker room.
  • The Bulldogs quickly cut the margin down to six points scoring the first eight points of the second-half, but Arcadia continued to lead by 10 (56-46) with 10:41 left in the game.
  • A bucket from Thomas and a three-pointer from sophomore Emanuel Domingo cut the the margin down to five at the under eight media timeout.
  • Out of the timeout, the Bulldogs got within four before an Arcadia bucket made it a six-point game.
  • DSU then scored six straight points to tie the score at 58 at the under four media timeout.
  • Thomas made 1-of-2 free throws out of the timeout to tiave DSU a 59-58 lead but the Knights answered with a triple to reclaim a 61-59 advantage with 3:48 to go.
  • Two more Thomas free throws tied the score at 61 and Arcadia made two freebies with 2:56 left to take a 63-61 lead.
  • The Bulldogs missed two free throws one possession later and after a few empty possessions, Nas Johnson hit a driving layup to give the Knights a 65-61 lead.
  • Thomas hit two free throws to make it a two-point game with 51 seconds left, but Johnson had the answer again with another contested layup to make it 67-63 with 24 seconds left.
  • Thomas quickly raced down the other end to make it a two-point game but AU hit two free throws with 11.2 seconds left to ice the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Thomas was once again terrific finishing with 33 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.
  • Domingo came off the bench to score 13 points and grab five rebounds.
For the Foes
  • Johnson and Corey Attivo each had 17 points to lead the Knights.
  • Jamison Lynam had 11 points and Joshua Okocha finished with 10 points.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales shot 46 percent from the field as compared to just 40 percent for the Knights.
  • AU took 15 more shots than the Bulldogs, thanks to 16 offensive rebounds and just four turnovers.
