Men's Lacrosse Falls, 13-7, to Muhlenberg

CENTER VALLEY, Pa (Feb 24, 2026) -- The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell at home versus Muhlenberg College, 13-7, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.  

The Basics  

  • Final Score: Muhlenberg – 13, DeSales – 7 

  • Records: DeSales (0-4 overall); Muhlenberg (2-2) 

  • This is the second loss in the series with Muhlenberg, bringing the series history to 2-4 overall.  

 How it Happened  

  • The Mules went on a 4-0 run to begin the game, but DeSales fought back, with three goals scored within 90 seconds to bring the score to 4-3. Two of the three goals in the first quarter for the Bulldogs were scored by sophomore TJ Kearns.  

  • At the end of the first quarter, first-year Jake Hasson tied the game up for DeSales. 

  • Muhlenberg went on a three-scoring run during a large portion of the second quarter, until sophomore, Connor Bourdon, was able to find the back of the net with just one second left on the clock.  

  • DeSales was able to score two goals in the fourth quarter, one by senior Matthew Costigan and another from Kearns, but it was not enough to catch up with the Mules.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • On the face off, first year Ryan Herman won 7-of-11 and had three ground balls, and sophomore Patch Day won 5-of-11 with three ground balls.  

  • First-year defender Xander Borowski led the team in cause turnovers, finishing the game with two and one ground ball.  

  • Kearns led the team in goals and shots on goal, with three and four respectively.  

  • Goalkeeper, Christopher Andersen finished the first game of his junior year with a .500 save percentage.  

For the Foes  

  • Chase Kusko and Luc Belvill lead the team in points, each finishing the game with five.  

  • Seth Frankford won 6-of-9 face offs.  

  • Goalkeeper, Jace Riley Day, finished the game with a .588 save percentage.  

Inside the Box Score  

  • DeSales had the slim advantage on face offs winning 12-of-23. 

  • Both DeSales and Muhlenberg were tied with seven cause turnovers.  

  • Muhlenberg had a 44-32 advantage in ground balls.
