Men's Lacrosse Drops Game to Ursinus

 Center Valley, Pa (Feb. 27, 2026) -- The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell at home versus Ursinus College, 16-8, in non-conference action on Friday evening. 

The Basics  

  • Final Score: Ursinus – 16, DeSales – 8 

  • Records: DeSales (0-5 overall); Ursinus (2-2 overall) 

  • The Bulldogs have met with the Bears four times over the past four years, dropping all four of the games. 

How it Happened  

  • Ursinus started the game with a goal in the first minute, but the Bulldogs were able to respond quickly with a wraparound goal from Colin Getz.  

  • Andrew Krieg added a second to the scoreboard to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 advantage.  

  • To end the first, the Bears went on a three-goal run streak, bringing the score to 4-2.  

  • The Bulldogs defense kept Ursinus to only three goals in the third quarter, ending the third 12-6. 

  • Rilly scored an additional two goals in the fourth, but the Bulldogs were unable to cut the lead that the Bears took.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • Sophomore Rilly tallied three goals and two ground balls for the Bulldogs.  

  • Senior Taylor Wikert contributed three cause turnovers and two ground balls on the defensive end. 

  • Face-off specialist Patch Day was 5-for-11 in the evening.  

  • First-year Krieg contributed one goal, and three ground balls in the evening.  

For the Foes  

  • Daniel Rice contributed two goals and two assists for the Bears.  

  • Harry Sweitzer had two cause turnovers on the evening.  

  • Goalkeeper Colin Daroch finished the evening with a .467 save percentage.  

Inside the Box Score  

  • Ursinus took the majority on face offs going 17-of-28.  

  • DeSales took the advantage 8-7 cause turnovers.  

  • Ursinus had the 33-25 advantage on the evening for ground balls.

  • The Bulldogs are back in action next Friday when they take on Messiah Unievrsity at home.
