Baseball Sweeps DH with Ursinus, 2-1 and 7-2

Wilkes-Barre, PA (February 27, 2026) - The DeSales University baseball team swept both ends of a doubleheader with Ursinus College at Wilkes University on Friday afternoon.

Game One (W/2-1)
Ursinus scored once in the first inning but had a second run cut down at the plate to take a 1-0 lead.

Senior Mike Hooker settled in after that tossing five strong innings allowing just two more hits after the first inning and no more runs and junior Alex Crudder earned a two-inning save, striking out two to help the Bulldogs take game one.

DSU scored solo runs in the fourth and the fifth on an RBI double from first-year Kevin Brace and a sacrifice fly from senior JT Anderosky.

Game Two (W/7-2)
The Bears got another first inning run to take a 1-0 lead but the Bulldogs scored three times in the first, once in the second, and once more in the third to take a 5-2 lead.

Senior Owen Fischl, first-year Alex Bersani, junior Owen Yoder, and junior Jack Sague all had RBI hits in the first three innings. First-year Dominic Berretta had an RBI single in the seventh and Fischl added a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Senior Andrew McGowan pitched three strong innings allowing just two hits and striking out five.  Senior Kyle Hart picked up a save with a scoreless ninth inning, entering the bases loaded and no one out.

Sague had two hits and Fischl scored two runs to lead the offense.

The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow taking on Ursinus College two more times in a doubleheader at Perkiomen Valley HS.
