Winter Haven, FL (March 10, 2026) - The DeSales University softball team finished up its spring break trip with another split of two games defeating Gordon College, 5-1, before falling to Earlham College, 8-0.
Game One (W/5-1)
The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead after RBI singles from juniorÂ
Kiara Castera and sophomoreÂ
Katie Sharkey in the second and third innings.
Gordon cut the lead down to one in the fourth inning but an RBI single from first-yearÂ
Alyssa Lynch in the fifth made it 3-1 and sophomoreÂ
Cassie Zellner and seniorÂ
Shana Gugliandolo each had RBI singles in the seventh to post the final score.
First-yearÂ
Brianna Bauscher earned her second win of the season with 4 1/3 innings allowing just one run. SophomoreÂ
Ava DiDonato picked up her second save of the year with 2 2/3 scoreless innings.
Game Two (L/0-8)
Earlham scored four runs in the first inning and added a run in the third and three in the fourth to finish off the Bulldogs.
DSU had just two hits in the loss both coming off the bat of juniorÂ
Abigayle Freideman.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they return home to host Stevens in the first MAC Freedom games of the season beginning at 1:00 pm.
