Rorick's Five Hits and Stellar Defense Lead Baseball to DH Sweep of King's

Center Valley, PA (March 21, 2026) - Senior John Rorick had five hits and helped turn two double plays leading the DeSales University baseball team to a doubleheader sweep of King's College on Saturday afternoon in the 2026 home opener at Weiland Park.

Game One (W/14-8)
The Bulldogs opened up a 7-0 lead with a single run in the first and six tallies in the second inning. Sophomore Jacob Rivera had an RBI single in the first and two-RBI single in the second. Graduate student Owen Fischl had an RBI single and first-year Kevin Brace laced a two-RBI double in the second inning.

King's got two runs in the third but DSU put up another six spot in the fourth that included an RBI bunt single from Rorick to take a 13-2 lead.

The Monarchs refused to quit putting up five runs in the sixth inning to get within 13-7 before the final 14-8 tally was posted.

Senior Mike Hooker earned his third win of the season pitching five strong innings allowing just two runs and striking out six.

Rivera finished game one 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Brace had three RBIs, while Fischl, senior JT Anderosky, junior Owen Yoder, and Rorick all scored twice.

Game Two (W/11-1)
DeSales opened up a 5-0 lead in the second game scoring once in the second on an RBI double from Brace, twice in the third on a King's error and solo home run from senior Bobby Dingell, and twice in the fourth on an RBI single from Fischl and double steal later in the inning.

Leading 6-1 into the seventh, the Bulldogs put five on the board to end the game early going up 10 runs. Yoder, Rorick, and Anderosky all had RBI singles in the five-run seventh.

Sophomore Joe Ficoturo earned his first win of the season pitching five shutout frames, striking out four.

Rorick finished 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Brace and Yoder each had two RBIs, while first-year Dominic Berretta and Dingell each scored twice.  Anderosky had two hits and two RBIs.

The Bulldogs will wrap-up the series with the Monarchs on Sunday with first pitch set for Noon.
