Wilkes-Barre, PA (March 22, 2026) - The DeSales University softball team split a MAC Freedom doubleheader at King's College on Sunday winning game one, 5-3.
Game One (W/5-3)
The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead in this one scoring three times in the top of the fourth inning thanks in part to a two-RBI double from juniorÂ
Jackie Capers. The Monarchs tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning and the game remained tied into the seventh inning.
In the top of the seventh, DSU scored twice as juniorÂ
Abigayle Freideman had an RBI single and the Bulldogs retired the Monarchs in order in the bottom half of the inning.
SophomoreÂ
Ava DiDonato earned the win pitching 2 2/3 innings allowing just two hits and striking out three.

Shana Gugliandolo, juniorÂ
Paige Hromin, and juniorÂ
Kiara Castera all had two hits in the game one win.
Game Two (L/3-6)
King's scored four times in the first inning and once more in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.
DSU got single runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh but was unable to get any closer to drop game two.

Amy Wood had an RBI double and Gugliandolo also had an RBI double in the loss.
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they host Kean University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 4:00 pm.
