Academic All-District Basketball 2026

LaVerghetta, Ishigami, and Meeker Named CSC Academic All-District

Center Valley, PA (March 24, 2026) – Sophomores Kayla Ishigami and Marissa LaVerghetta and senior Will Meeker from the DeSales University women's and men's basketball teams were honored on Tuesday afternoon being named CSC Academic All-District as announced by the College Sports Communicators.

To be eligible for this honor you must be a sophomore or higher, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater, and either play in 90% of games or start 66% of games on your institutions team. All three players are making their first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District Team.

Ishigami, a sport & exercise physiology major, appeared in all 28 games for the Bulldogs, making six starts. She finished the year averaging 8.4 points per game and shooting a team-high 39.5 percent from three-point land. Ishigami finished the season on a tear averaging 12.8 points per game over the last eight games, including averaging 15.7 points in the three postseason games.

LaVerghetta, a sports management major, started and played in 22-of-28 games. She earned Honorable-Mention All-MAC Freedom honors this season. LaVerghetta finished the season averaging 6.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 3.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. She finished the year ranked #2 in the country in assist-to-turnover ratio at 4.35-to-1.

Meeker, a mathematics major, appeared in all 26 games, making one start. He finished the year averaging 4.0 points and 1.9 rebounds for the Bulldogs, scoring in double digits three times during the season.
