New Tripoli, PA (March 28, 2026) - The DeSales University golf team posted a fifth place finish at its Spring Classic on Friday and Saturday at Olde Homestead Golf Club with a two-day team total of 648.
The Bulldogs were just two shots behind local rival Muhlenberg College.
First-yearÂ
Matthew Smith led the Bulldogs over the two days with an 11th place finish and two day total of 158. He shot a 2-over 74 on Friday carding birdies on #8, 12, and 14 before finishing the tournament with an 84 in round two on Saturday.
SophomoreÂ
Peter McGinley was just behind Smith in 15th place individually with a two-day score of 162. He carded an 80 on Friday with a birdie on #10 and finished with an 82 on Saturday, making birdie on #4 in his second round.
SeniorÂ
Brandon Fox was T-17th with a two day score of 165 and juniorÂ
Paul Hornberger finished T-20th with a 166 over the two days. Fox had an 84 on day one and an 81 on day two making one birdie (#16) in his two rounds. Hornberger carded rounds of 88 (day one) and 78 (day two) making four birdies, including three on his day two round on holes #7, 14, and 15.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Monday when they travel to the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational at Lebanon CC.
