Center Valley, PA (March 29, 2026) - The DeSales University baseball team swept a doubleheader wtih Delaware Valley University on Sunday afternoon to take 2-of-3 in the weekend series with the Aggies.
Game One (W/9-4)
The Bulldogs got out early in game one scoring five times in the first inning on an RBI single from sophomoreÂ
Jacob Rivera and two-RBI double from first-yearÂ
Dominic Berretta.
The Aggies got four back in the top of the second inning to get within a run (5-4).
DSU added a run in the bottom of the second inning and scored another in the third to take a 7-4 lead on an RBI double from juniorÂ
Owen Yoder. The Bulldogs put the game away with two more runs in the fifth to post the 9-4 final.
SophomoreÂ
Joe Ficoturo earned the win with 5 2/3 innings allowing four runs and striking out four.
SeniorÂ
JT Anderosky, seniorÂ
Shane Anhalt, Rivera, and Yoder all had two hits in the game one win.
Game Two (W/19-9)
DSU took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and scored six times in the second to lead 8-0. Senior
Bobby Dingell had two RBIs, sophomoreÂ
Aaron Schneider hit a two-run home run, and first-year
Kevin Brace had an RBI single in the first two innings.
Delaware Valley got back in the game with five runs in the top of the third inning, but the Bulldogs scored in every inning of the game eventually winning by mercy rule, 19-9, with two runs in the third, fourth, and sixth innings, while also scoring four times in the fifth, and once in the seventh.
SeniorÂ
Kyle Hart earned the win in relief pitching 1 1/3 innings allowing just one run.
Eight nine starters scored a run in the game. Anderosky was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI, graduate studentÂ
Owen FIschl was 4-for-4 with five runs scored, and Dingell finished 2-for-2 with four RBIs and four runs scored, including his third home run of the season.
Rivera finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, Brace was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Schneider was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host William Paterson University beginning at 5:00 pm.
