Dallas, PA (April 11, 2026) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader at Misericordia University on Saturday afternoon.
Game One (L/1-9)
MU scored four times in the first and once more in the second to open up a 5-0 lead. Â
The lead was 6-0 in the fifth when the Bulldogs got on the board on a solo home run from juniorÂ
Kiara Castera before the final margin was posted.
JuniorÂ
Jackie Capers took the loss allowing five runs over two innings.
Game Two (L/3-6)
The Cougars once again jumped out early in this one taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
DSU got a run back with an RBI single from first-yearÂ
Emily Richards in the third inning but MU scored three times in the bottom half of the inning to claim a 5-1 lead.
It was 6-1 into the fifth inning when Richards hit a two-run home run to cut the margin in half but the Bulldogs were unable to score again.
SeniorÂ
Morgan Benner had three hits and Richards finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs. SeniorÂ
Ava Goodman and sophomoreÂ
Kylie Llewellyn each had two hits in game two.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host Alvernia University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 4:00 pm.
