Men's Lacrosse Dominates Delaware Valley University, 20-2

CENTER VALLEY, PA (April 15, 2026) -- The DeSales University men's lacrosse team dominates the Delaware Valley University Aggies, 20-2, in MAC Freedom action Wednesday evening.  

The Basics 

  • Final Score: DeSales – 20, Delaware Valley – 2 

  • Records: DeSales (6-8 overall, 3-1 MAC Freedom), Delaware Valley University (1-11 overall, 0-4 MAC Freedom) 

  • This is the ninth victory for the Bulldogs when competing with the Aggies.  

How it Happened  

  • First-year Blake Finnegan was the first on the board for the Bulldogs, scoring three minutes into the first quarter, one minute later Mark Winkler Jr. Added the second unassisted goal to the quarter.  

  • DeSales then went on a three-goal streak, Winkler Jr. Contributed one and Finnegan contributed two, before the Aggies got on the board.  

  • After Delaware Valley's goal, the Bulldogs responded right off the face off won by Ryan HermanChase Austin got the ground ball and assisted a goal from Jake Hurd.  

  • DeSales added two more to the quarter, closing out the first 8-1.  

  • The Aggies added a second goal half way through the quarter, and two minutes later TJ Kearns added another assisted by Seth Young.  

  • Also contributing goals to the second quarter was Colin Getz, Hurd, Kearns, and Colin Spring, giving the Bulldogs the 14-2 lead going into the half.  

  • DeSales defense held incredibly strong during the third quarter, holding the Aggies scoreless all quarter and adding six cause turnovers.  

  • Halfway through the third, Jason Reilly added an unassisted goal for DeSales ending the quarter, 15-2.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • Winkler Jr. and Kearns both led the team in points with four from two goals and two assists each.  

  • Xander Borowski ended the evening with three cause turnovers and three ground balls.  

  • Patch Day was 13-for-14 on the face off also adding five ground balls to the evening.  

  • Ryan Herman led the team in ground balls with seven, and went 11-for-12 on the face off.  

  • Goalkeeper AJ Ardizone ended the evening with a .600 save percentage.  

For the Foes  

  • Ashton Benkwitt led the defense with three cause turnover and four ground balls.  

  • Goalkeeper Daniel Hickling, ended the evening with 35 saves, and a save percentage of 0.636.  

Inside the Box Score  

  • DeSales was 25-for-25 on the clear, compared to Delaware Valley University's 23-for-36. 

  • The Bulldogs dominated on the face off, going 24-for-26.
