Allentown, PA (April 16, 2026) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader at local rival Muhlenberg College on Thursday afternoon.
Game One (L/6-7)
The Mules took a 3-0 lead in the second inning and led 4-1 thru four innings after both teams scored in the third inning.
DeSales exploded for five runs in the top of the fifth to take a 6-4 lead as sophomoreÂ
Arabella Heintzelman had an RBI single, seniorÂ
Ava Goodman an RBI double, juniorÂ
Abigayle Freideman an RBI single to left field, and juniorÂ
Kiara Castera an RBI single.
The Mules tied the game at six with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and won the game in walkoff fashion with a double in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Shana Gugliandolo had two hits, Goodman two hits, a run scored, and an RBI, and sophomoreÂ
Katie Sharkey had two hits and a run scored.
Game Two (L/0-8)
The Mules scored three times in the first, two in the second, and three in the third inning to take an 8-0 lead and never looked back from there.
The Bulldogs had just three hits in the game two loss.
DSU is back in action on Saturday when they travel to FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom action beginning at 1:00 pm.
