JT Anderosky went 6-for-6 to tie the single-game record for hits leading the DeSales University baseball team to a 19-7 win over FDU-Florham in the first of three games with the Devils on Friday afternoon.
Anderosky becomes the third player in team history with six hits in a game, tying
Brett Vargo and
Charles Dennis, with the most hits in a single-game in team history.
Sophomore
Jacob Rivera gave DSU a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning scoring Anderosky and Anderosky doubled home junior
Owen Yoder in the second inning to make it 2-0.
DSU broke the game open in the third scoring eight times, including a two-run double from Anderosky in the inning.
The lead swelled to 14-3 after a two-run home run from first-year
Kevin Brace in the fourth before the final margin was posted.
Anderosky was once again one hit shy, this time a home run, of hitting for the cycle, the third time this season he was one hit shy as he finished 6-for-6 with four runs scored and five RBIs.
Graduate student
Owen Fischl and Brace each had three RBIs. Senior
John Rorick finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored.
Senior
Mike Hooker earned the win pitching five innings allowing four runs and striking out three.
The Bulldogs will wrap-up the series tomorrow with two games at Weiland Park beginning at Noon.
