Baseball Splits DH with FDU-Florham; Locks Up Top Two Seed in MAC Freedom

Center Valley, PA (April 18, 2026) - The DeSales University baseball team split a MAC Freedom doubleheader with FDU-Florham to take 2-of-3 in the weekend series clinching a top two seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament.

DSU now sits two games ahead of Misericordia University and needs just one win the three-game set with Lebanon Valley College to clinch the top seed in the postseason tournament.

Game One (L/2-8)
DSU took a 2-0 lead in this one after an RBI triple from sophomore Jacob Rivera and a Devil error.

That score remained into the third when FDU got five runs and added three in the seventh to post the final tally.

Graduate student Owen Fischl finished 2-for-3 with a run scored to lead a six hit attack.

Game Two (W/17-1)
This game was tied at one thru two innings when DSU broke it open with eight runs in the third inning and four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to lead 17-1 and never looked back from there.

The Bulldogs had 17 hits in this one led by FIschl who was 3-for-3 with three RBIs.  Senior JT Anderosky, first-year Kevin Brace, senior Bobby Dingell, and junior Owen Yoder all had two hits in the game two win.

Senior Andrew McGowan earned the win pitching five strong innings allowing just one run and striking out four.

The Bulldogs return to the diamond on Tuesday when they host Moravian University in a non-conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
