York, PA (April 19, 2026) - The DeSales University softball team salvaged a doubleheader split after a 3-2 win in eight innings of game two on Sunday afternoon.
Game One (L/7-14)
York took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before the Bulldogs scored four runs in the second inning to take a 4-2 lead. JuniorÂ
Paige Hromin had a two-run double as part of the second inning.
York answered right back with five runs in the bottom of the second inning to claim a 7-4 lead.
Trailing 8-4 in the fourth, Hromin had a two-run double to pull the Bulldods within 8-6, but the Spartans scored three times in the fourth, twice in the fifth, and once more in the sixth to pull away for the game one win.
Hromin finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while sophomoreÂ
Katie Sharkey and first-yearÂ
Maddy Nagy each scored twice.
Game Two (W/3-2 - 8 innings)
DeSales took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Sharkey scored during a rundown and the Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the seventh after a Spartan error.
York rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the inning as the game went to extra innings.
In the top of the eighth, Nagy hit an RBI single scoring pinch-runnerÂ
Jodee Domey and first-yearÂ
Brianna Bauscher did the rest tossing a scoreless eighth to earn her seventh win of the season with a complete-game effort allowing just two runs and striking out five.
Sharkey led a seven-hit attack with two hits.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they host Eastern University in another non-conference doubleheader beginning at 4:00 pm.
