Men's Lacrosse Clinches Postseason Spot With Win at FDU-Florham

MADSION, NJ (April 22, 2026) -- The DeSales University men's lacrosse team downed the FDU-Florham Red Devils 16-6 in MAC Freedom action.  

The Bulldogs can earn the number one seed with a win verus Stevens on Saturday. They can still earn the number two seed with a loss if Lebanon Valley College beats Misericordia on Saturday. If Misericordia beats Lebanon Valley College on Saturday and the Bulldogs lose to Stevens, DSU will be the number three seed.  

The Basics  

  • Final Score: DeSales – 16, FDU-Florham – 6.  

  • Records: DeSales (8-8 overall, 5-1 MAC Freedom), FDU-Florham (8-8 overall, 2-4 MAC Freedom) 

  • The Bulldogs have been dominant in recent history, in the match up with the Red Devils, making this evening the sixth win in a row for the Bulldogs.  

How it Happened  

  • DeSales was the first on the board, four minutes into the game, after a failed clear attempt from FDU, Blake Finnegan snuck the first in, with an assist from Seth Young.  

  • The Red Devils then had back-to-back goals to bring FDU-Florham up early in the first.  

  • The Bulldogs responded immediately with a three-goal scoring streak, Jake Hurd, Young, and TJ Kearns all contributed.  

  • FDU-Florham added two more goals to the end of the first, to tie the game 4-4, heading into the second period.  

  • Two minutes into the second, Kearns added a man-down goal, assisted by Young to bring the Bulldogs up.  

  • DeSales defense incredibly strong during the second period, not allowing any Red Devils goals, allowing the Bulldogs to take a bigger lead going into the half.  

  • DeSales lone goal in the third, came from Mark Winkler Jr. Assisted by Griffin Adams. The Red Devils added two more to the board, to cut the lead to three, ending the third 9-6.  

  • During the fourth, the Bulldogs were dominant on both sides of the ball, not allowing any goals defensively and offensively, adding seven goals from, Andrew Krieg, Adams, Winkler Jr., Joe Cieleski, Getz, and Kearns, ending the match up, 16-6.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • Kearns led the team in points with six, from three goals and three assists. Right behind him with five points from one goal and four assists is Young.  

  • Patch Day went 10-for-14 on the face off, and also contributed four ground balls on the evening.  

  • Goalkeeper AJ Ardizone, ended the evening with 15 saves, only allowing six goals on the evening. He also contributed four ground balls and one cause turnover for the Bulldogs.  

For the Foes 

  • Luke Dugan (2 goals, 1 assist) and Joesph Carbo (1 goal, 2 assists) both had three points each for the Red Devils.  

Up Next  

  • The Bulldogs will take on the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks on Saturday at home in their last MAC Freedom regular season game.
