Women's Soccer Falls to Haverford College

HAVERFORD, PA (Sept. 16, 2026) -- The DeSales University women's soccer team, fell 1-0 to the Haverford College Black Squirrels on Wednesday afternoon, in non-conference action.  

The Basics  

  • Final Score: DeSales University – 0, Haverford College – 1  

  • Records - DeSales: 1-3-1, Haverford: 3-1-1 

How it Happened 

For a majority of the game, both teams remained scoreless, gaining scoring opportunities but with strong defenses, neither team was able to capitalize on said opportunities. With just twenty minutes left in the game, Haverford College added one to the board, bringing the Black Squirrels up by one. DeSales continued the rest of the game strong but were unable to sneak the ball in the back of the net, ending the game 1-0.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • Emily Mulroony ended the afternoon with shots (3) and shots on goal (2) for the Bulldogs this afternoon. 

For the Foes  

  • Goalkeeper Allie Billups ended the afternoon with eight saves for the Black Squirrels.  

  • Sophia Mitchell tallied six shots, four shots on goal and one assist for Haverford College. 

Inside the Box Score  

  • Haverford had the slim 18-13 majority in shots, DeSales took the 9-7 shot majority in the first half of play.  

Up Next  

DeSales women's soccer will travel to Camden, NJ on Saturday, to take on Rutgers-Camden. The Bulldogs are back in action at home, on Saturday, September 26 versus Stockton during DeSales University Homecoming.
