Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Kendall Brach - Sports Information Graduate Assistant

Women's Soccer Falls, 2-1, to Local Rival, Muhlenberg College

CENTER VALLEY, PA (Sept. 5, 2026) -- The DeSales University women's soccer team, fell to cross-town rivals, the Muhlenberg College Mules, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon, in non-conference action.  

The Basics  

  • Final Score – DeSales University: 1, Muhlenberg College: 2 

  • Records – DeSales: 1-1-0, Muhlenberg: 2-0-0 

  • Since 2006, the Bulldogs and Mules have met 13 times, with an even 6-6-1 record, going back and forth between the two teams in competition.  

How it Happened 

  • Both teams started the game strong, defending their goal, as the ball continued to bounce from one end of the field to the other. Muhlenberg was on the bord first in the 26th minute of play, after Ava Milan found the left side of the goal.  

  • The Bulldogs continued to fight on both sides of the ball, and just nine minutes into the second half, DeSales took advantage of a corner kick, junior Cami Beetel served the ball over to first-year Delainey Ross, who found the back of the net to put the Bulldogs on the board. 

  • Possession remained even though the game, with both teams fighting on both sides of the ball, but in the last 33 seconds of the game, Muhlenberg found the back of the net off a rebound, putting them ahead by one goal.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • Sophomore forward, Emily Mulroony led the team in shots (3), right behind her, was senior midfielder Catherine Crampton, with two shots, one shot on goal and played a full 90-minute game.  

  • First-year Ross scored the Bulldogs' lone goal and tallied two shots and one shot on goal. 

  • Junior goalkeeper, Campbell Pacheco, finished with four saves on the afternoon.  

For the Foes  

  • Jaidyn Falcone tallied one of the goals for the Mules, and contributed four total shots and two shots on goal.  

  • Goalkeeper Megan Stairs ended the afternoon with three saves.  

Inside the Box Score  

  • Both teams were close to even on shots, with DeSales taking the 13-11 advantage over the Mules, but Muhlenberg tool the 6-4 shot on goal advantage.  

  • DeSales also took the 4-3 advantage on corners.

DeSales hosts Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, at home in Center Valley.
