A tight game in the early going was opened up when a quick 8-0 run by DeSales pushed a two-point lead into a 15-5 advantage at the 12:42 mark. The Devils scored first out of the locker room to cut the margin down to single digits but that was the last time DSU led by less then 10 as a three-pointer from junior Matt Zwetolitz (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) ignited a 14-3 run that gave the Bulldogs a 20-point lead and eventually grew to as many as 30 points on three different occasions before the final was posted.
Sophomore Rob Schubach (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) was the story on the offensive end as he came off the bench to tie his career-high with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting including 4-of-7 from outside the arc as the lone Bulldog to reach double digits. A host of players finished with nine points including Zwetolitz and seniors Phil Stricker (Womelsdorf, PA/Conrad Weiser) and Eddie Ohlson (Allentown, PA/Parkland).
Lapinski contributed eight points and six rebounds off the bench and senior Jamie McCloskey (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) had a solid game with a team and career-high seven rebounds. In all 13 of the 15 Bulldogs who earned playing time reached the scoring column.
