Annville, PA (September 10, 2008) – Sophomore Corey Horn (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) scored his first goal of the season with 2:58 left on the game clock lifting the DeSales University men's soccer team past Lebanon Valley College, 3-2, in a non-conference game on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs improve to 4-2 overall with the win, while the Flying Dutchmen fall to 3-2 overall. DSU held a 15-9 advantage on shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks in the win.

LVC went up 1-0 just 38 ticks into the game as AJ Hull scored off an assist from Morgan Crouse on a header in the box. DSU tied the game at the 20:04 mark of the first half when sophomore Aaron Gildner (Slatington, PA/Parkland) scored on a rocket from 30-yards that found the upper right corner for his second goal of the season. The tie game lasted just 45 seconds as Lebanon Valley went back in front on an own goal as the DSU defense inadvertently cleared the ball into its own net giving the hosts a 2-1 lead. That score stood into halftime.

In the second half, the Bulldogs wasted no time re-tying the game as junior Marc Leonard (Bondville, VT/Burr and Burton Academy) scored off an assist from senior German Reyes (Beach Lake, PA/Honesdale) just 2:13 in to the second half. The game remained tied until the 87:02 mark when Horn connected on his game-winner on a rebound from a previous DSU shot.

Junior Keith Barry (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) continued his solid play in between the pipes allowing just the two goals, one of which was an own goal, and making three saves in the win. DSU is now 4-0 in games started by Barry this season.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, September 13th when they host Ursinus College in another non-conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
