Doylestown, PA (February 26, 2011) – Delaware Valley College out-scored the DeSales University men's basketball team, 42-17, over the final 14 minutes en route to a 79-58 win over the Bulldogs in the Freedom Conference Championship game in front of a packed house at James Work Gymnasium.

Delaware Valley College (17-10 overall) wins it's first-ever Freedom Conference Championship in just their second-ever playoff appearance. The Bulldogs (19-8 overall) now must wait for a possible NCAA at-large berth on Monday afternoon.

The Aggies shot 55.6 percent from the field in the second-half, while DeSales shot just 31.8 percent for the game, its lowest shooting total of the season.

Sophomore Brett Moyer was outstanding in the loss, recording his eighth double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while freshman Paul Pammer and junior Bob Zanneo each had 10 points. Senior Brian Hunter finished with nine points, five rebounds, and four assists, becoming the first player in school-history to record 1,000 points and 400 assists in a career.

Senior James Jones led the Aggies with 32 points, 26 of which came in the second half. Senior Jason Goldheimer added 16 points, senior Chris Ellis had 15 points and eight boards, and sophomore Jeremy Beckett finished one rebound and one block shy of a triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds, and nine blocked shots.

The first half was a tight affair throughout as Pammer scored eight of his 10 points over the first three minutes to give DSU a 10-5 lead early. Delaware Valley went up six (18-12) before six straight points from Hunter and Moyer tied the game at 18 with 6:50 to go in the opening half.

The Aggies countered with seven straight tallies of their own before the Bulldogs used a 10-3 run over the final 4:34 to tie the game at 28 entering the locker rooms. Pammer had 10, Moyer totaled eight points, and Hunter had six to lead the Bulldogs in the opening half. Ellis paced DVC with eight and Goldheimer had seven points.

The start of the second half was more of the same back and forth action and after two straight lay-ups from Moyer with 14:20 left, the Aggies took the game over. A 21-6 run over the next five minutes pushed a four-point deficit into an 11-point Delaware Valley lead with 5:48 to go. Jones did most of the damage with 10 of the 21 points.

From that point the Bulldogs began to foul, looking to get back into the game, but the Aggies were up to the challenge at the line hitting 15-of-17 shots from the charity stripe over the final four minutes to ice the game and earn its first-ever title.
