Center Valley, PA (February 1, 2012) – Senior
Tom Marshall and sophomore
Mike Coleman set the tone early with highlight reel dunks and the DeSales University men's basketball team routed Delaware Valley College in the second-half, posting its fourth straight win, 75-47, over the Aggies in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.
Marshall started the dunking exhibition with a surprising throw down on the break just two minutes into the game, the first slam of his career, and Coleman brought the house down with a dunk in transition over two Aggie defenders at the 11:54 mark which should make for a nice poster hanging in Coleman's dorm room in the very near future.
DeSales (12-8, 5-4 Freedom) fed off that energy, using a 9-0 run to build a 19-13 lead and never trailed from that point leading by as many as 10 points in the opening half before settling for a 32-24 halftime edge. DSU shot 52.2 percent from the field and out-rebounding Delaware Valley (4-16, 1-8 Freedom) by nine boards.
The second-half was all Bulldogs as they raced out to a 23-point lead at the 11:16 mark and never really looked back. The lead peaked at 32 points once as DeSales torched the second-half nets at a 65.4 percent clip and finished the game shooting 59.2 percent.
DSU dominated the glass, out-rebounding DVC, 34-20, and also dominated the paint, out-scoring the Aggies, 28-12, inside the lane. DeSales improves to 8-0 when leading at the half and 11-2 when holding the opponent under 70 points.

Junior
Jeremy Beckett and sophomore
Nathan Bollinger were the lone Aggies in double digits with 10 and 12 points respectively.
The Bulldogs will put their four-game winning streak on the line on Saturday when they host Misericordia University in another very important Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:00 pm in Billera Hall. All proceeds for the game and all donations collected during the game will go directly to Cancer research as part of DSU's “Pink Zone” promotion.
