Center Valley, PA (January 16, 2013) – Junior Kyle Hash scored 16 points off the bench and senior Brett Moyer added 17 points leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past Misericordia University, 79-61, in a match-up of the two unbeaten teams in the Freedom Conference on Wednesday night in Billera Hall.

The win snaps the Cougars (8-8, 4-1 Freedom) 16-game winning streak vs. the Freedom Conference dating back to last season and gives DSU (13-3, 5-0 Freedom) sole possession of first place as we approach the half-way point of the Freedom Conference schedule just two games away.

Hash shot 5-of-8 from the field and tallied his 16 points in just 17 minutes of action, while Moyer was 6-for-7 from the field and scored his 17 in just 23 minutes of action.  Junior Paul Pammer also reached double digits with 14 points and junior Mike Coleman added nine points.

Misericordia started strong opening up a 13-6 lead after a three from Matt Greene 5:48 into the game.  DeSales countered with 12-2 run over the next 3:34 to take a 19-15 lead on the strength of three's from both Hash and freshman Cody Deal.

The Bulldogs continued to lead, this time by five points (34-29), with 4:07 left in the opening half when DeSales held the Cougars without a point the rest of the half and scored seven of its own to take a 41-29 lead into the locker room.  Hash accounted for all seven points to end the half, including his second three with 42 seconds left.

The lead never dropped below double digits in the second-half and swelled to as many as 27 points (77-50) with 5:40 left to play as the Bulldogs cruised home with the win over the final 20 minutes.

DeSales shot a blistering 55.8 percent for the game and made 10-of-18 (55.6 percent) from outside the arc.  DSU also committed just six turnovers for the game.  Miseri started hot but finished the game shooting 44.2 percent from the field.

Cael Evans had a nice game off the bench for the Cougars with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Justin Grotevant also reached double figures with 12 points.

The Bulldogs will look to stay unbeaten on Saturday as they take to the road traveling to Eastern University for another Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
