Doylestown, PA (January 30, 2013) – Senior Brett Moyer totaled 18 points and junior Mike Coleman added 17 points but Delaware Valley College hit a three-pointer with 1:28 left and sealed the win one minute later with a steal handing the Bulldogs their first Freedom Conference loss of the season, 74-71, on Wednesday evening in James Work Gymnasium.

Moyer shot 7-for-11 from the field and pulled down seven rebounds and Coleman was 6-for-10 from the field in the loss.  Sophomore Michael Guldin and junior Paul Pammer added nine points.

DeSales fought off an early Aggie surge using a 23-6 run over the final 10:51 of the half to take a 35-27 lead into the locker room.  Moyer led the way with eight points as eight different Bulldogs scored over the first 20 minutes.

DSU clung to a five-point lead with 13:04 to play when DVC scored five straight points to tie the game at 48 with 11:13 to go only to see Coleman answer with a three giving the Bulldogs the lead back.

The two teams battled back and forth over the next several minutes with neither team gaining control.  A lay-up by Guldin with 5:01 to go gave DSU a three-point edge but the Aggies countered with four straight points including a follow slam by senior Jeremy Beckett to give DVC a 62-61 lead with 3:37 left to play.

After the two teams traded foul shots and DVC was still up by one, Pammer drove the lane and gave the lead right back to DeSales with a short jumper and just 1:53 to go on the clock.  Again DeSales gave DVC a second chance and this time off an offensive board by the Aggies Daulton Derr let go on a long three-pointer that rattled home and DVC led 67-65 with 1:28 remaining.

Moyer was fouled in the act on the ensuing possession but only converted 1-of-2 free throws and Beckett hit a short jumper in the lane with 34 ticks left giving the hosts a three-point cushion.

Out of a timeout by DeSales, the Bulldogs turned the ball over on the inbounds pass and DVC's Zach Sly raced down the court uncontested for a lay-up making it a five-point game with 25 seconds left.

After several possessions and fouls the Aggies' Francis Arnold missed both charity tosses with 1.9 seconds left and DSU called timeout as the clock ticked down to 1.2.  A long pass over the top to Coleman was tipped away as time expired and DVC had the win.

The Bulldogs shot a blistering 65.0 percent in the second-half (13-for-20) but were victim of 18 turnovers in the game.  Delaware Valley shot 49.0 percent for the game and a productive 6-for-10 from three-point land.

Four Aggie players including Sly (22), Derr (17), Arnold (18), and Beckett (15) accounted for all but two of Delaware Valley's points in the win.  Beckett had a double-double adding 11 rebounds prior to fouling out.

DeSales returns to action on Saturday when they travel once again this time to Misericordia University for another big road test vs. the Cougars at the Anderson Center beginning at 3:00 pm.
