Center Valley, PA (February 22, 2013) – The DeSales University men's basketball team is one win away from returning to the NCAA Tournament and earning its third Freedom Conference Championship as they host Delaware Valley College in a rematch of the Freedom Conference title game two years ago won by the Aggies at James Work Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
The Bulldogs enter with a 21-5 overall record and finished as the top team in the regular season with a 12-2 mark earning the coveted #1 seed in the playoffs. The 20 wins mark the ninth time in the last 11 years the Bulldogs have won 20+ games.
DSU defeated FDU-Florham, 59-57, on Wednesday in the semifinals to advance to its seventh Freedom Conference Championship in the last nine years. DeSales has not lost a Freedom semifinal in its last seven games. Sophomore
Michael Guldin was the hero hitting a running jumper with 20.8 seconds left to break a tie at 57 and a Devil three-point heave was well off the mark at the end.
Admission for the event will be $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students w/ID. All children under the age of six are FREE and all DeSales students who have a valid ID will be admitted for FREE.

DeSales/Delaware Valley Series:
DeSales owns a 35-17 lead in the all-time series between the two teams. The two squads split the season series with the home team winning each time. This will be the second career meeting in the Freedom post-season with the last coming in the title game two years ago won by the Aggies, 79-58. The Bulldogs are 21-4 vs. the Aggies at home with DVC's last win in Billera Hall coming in December, 2010, in overtime.
Regular Season Series
Game One at DeSales (W/69-63)
Junior
Paul Pammer scored a game-high 22 points and DSU used a 17-2 second-half run to take an 11-point lead with 5:43 to play and held off a late rally by the Aggies for the six-point win. Senior
Brett Moyer had a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds and Guldin added 11 points and four assists. Senior
Jeremy Beckett led the Aggies with 15 points.
Game Two at Delaware Valley (L/71-74)
An offensive rebound and eventual three from senior
Daulton Derr with 1:28 left gave Delaware Valley a 67-65 lead and a steal and layup from freshman
Zach Sly with 34 seconds left made it a two-possession game and the Aggies hit just enough free throws down the stretch to earn the 74-71 win in James Work Gymnasium. Moyer led the Bulldogs with 18 points and junior
Mike Coleman had 17 points in the loss. Sly finished with 22 points, Derr added 17 points, sophomore
Francis Arnold had 18 points, and Beckett 15 in the win.
DeSales in the Freedom Playoffs:
DeSales is making its 11th appearance in the Freedom Conference playoffs. The Bulldogs have won two Freedom Conference Championships (2008-09 and 2009-10) and have reached the Freedom Conference title game in each of their last seven playoff appearances (including this season). Overall DeSales has a 10-8 career mark in the Freedom Conference post-season and are 9-4 at home in the conference post-season.
Delaware Valley in the Freedom Playoffs:
Delaware Valley is making its fourth appearance in the MAC/Freedom Conference post-season and has a 3-2 overall record. DVC has won one Freedom Conference Championship (2010-11) and riding a three-game winning streak in the Freedom post-season following its semifinal win over Misericordia on Wednesday. The Aggies are 0-2 on the road in the Freedom playoffs.
About the Bulldogs:
As mentioned above the Bulldogs have won 20+ games for the ninth time in the last 11 years and earned the #1 seed in the post-season with a conference best 12-2 Freedom Conference record. Senior
Brett Moyer is the team leader averaging 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 59.6 percent from the field which entering the week was ranked 19th in the country. Moyer also has a team-high nine double-doubles on the season. Junior
Mike Coleman also averages double digits at 11.4 points per game and fellow junior
Paul Pammer is just behind him at 11.1 points per game with a team-high 29 made three-pointers. Moyer (First-Team), Coleman (Second-Team, and Pammer (Second-Team) were all honored on Friday being named to the All-Freedom Conference team as announced by the conference office. As a team, DSU entered the week ranked 12th in the country in field goal percentage (.493) and sixth in the country in three-point shooting percentage (.408) and boasts eight players who have made at least 12 three's on the season including Pammer (29), freshman

Kyle Hash (12). DeSales also entered the week ranked 13th in the country in free throw shooting percentage (.757) and 12th in rebounding margin (+8.4). The Bulldogs are 14-1 this season when scoring 70+ points, 13-1 at home including having won seven straight, 12-1 when they shoot better than 50 percent from the field, and 15-1 when they shoot better than 35 percent from outside the arc.
About the Aggies:
Delaware Valley enters the game with an 18-8 overall record and having finished the regular season as the #2 seed with an 11-3 Freedom Conference record. The 18 wins are already a school-record for the Aggies. Beckett (16.2 PPG and 10.8 RPG) and Derr (13.9 PPG and 4.8 RPG) rank 1-2 for Delaware Valley in scoring and rebounding. Beckett earned First-Team and Player of the Year honors on Friday and Derr was named to the Second-Team. Head coach
