Clearwater, FL (March 6, 2013) – A tying goal to start the fourth quarter was called back and Catholic University out-scored the Bulldogs, 3-0 in the fourth quarter, as the DeSales University men's lacrosse team dropped its first game of the season, 10-6, to the Cardinals in the first of two games down in Clearwater, FL during DSU's spring break trip.
The Bulldogs (1-1) trailed, 7-6, entering the fourth quarter but appeared to tie the game in the early stages of the final quarter but the goal was disallowed and Catholic (2-4) immediately made it a two-goal game and DSU was never able to find the back of the net over the final 15 minutes despite an 11-3 advantage in shots over the final quarter.

Jarrod Wiedow had one goal and two assists in the loss. Senior

Ryan Loughlin also each scored a goal, with Guerrier and Martin adding assists.

Brennan Gmeiner dominated the face-off circle once again winning 15-of-19 face-offs and picking up six ground balls. Freshman
Matt Warnken made nine saves in the net.
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow when they face Clark University.
