DSU Drops Second Straight, 13-11, to Clark

Clearwater, FL (March 6, 2013) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team out-shot Clark University, 49-28, but Clark took advantage of its opportunities, recording a 13-11 win over the Bulldogs in DSU's second straight game in as many days during its spring trip down to Clearwater, FL over spring break.

The Bulldogs (1-2) dominated play, out-shooting Clark (2-0) by 21 shots and winning 18-of-27 face-offs but DSU committed nine penalties and Clark scored on two extra-man opportunities as DeSales managed just three goals after leading 8-7 at the half in the loss.

Senior Jarrod Wiedow led the scoring punch with four goals and senior James Guerrier added three goals.  Junior Chalie Wilmer and sophomore Ryan Loughlin each had a goal and an assist and sophomore Nate Blevins and senior Brennan Gmeiner scored once.  Senior Josh Martin and sophomore Lance Bracale rounded out the scoring with one assist each.

Gmeiner won 18-of-27 face-offs and had 10 ground balls and freshman Matt Warnken made 10 saves for the Bulldogs in between the pipes.

DSU gets a well-deserved rest and returns to action on Saturday, March 16th when they open its home schedule vs. Immaculata University beginning at 1:00 pm.
