Bulldogs Roll past Arcadia, 12-6, Earning First Conference Win

Glenside, PA (April 13, 2013) – Senior James Guerrier scored three goals and added two assists leading the DeSales University men's lacrosse team past Arcadia University, 12-6, giving the Bulldogs their first Freedom Conference win of the season on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs broke a tie at three with two goals in the last 2:06 of the second quarter and rode that momentum into the second half scoring the first three goals to take an 8-3 lead and never looked back from there.

Led by senior Brennan Gmeiner winning 15-of-21 face-offs the Bulldogs once again dominated the face-offs winning 15-of-22 and out shot Arcadia, 30-26.  DSU was also successful on 15-of-16 clears and committed just 15 turnovers for the game.

Sophomore Ryan Rowse equaled Guerrier's team-leading there goals and added one assist and sophomore Lance Bracale added two tallies.  Rounding out the goal scorers were sophomore Ryan Loughlin, senior Josh Martin, sophomore Nate Blevins, and junior Jacob Bernier with one goal each.  Martin and seniors Jarrod Wiedow and Ben Krocheski each had assists in the win.

Gmeiner led the way with eight ground balls and freshman Tim Barry picked up five.  Freshman Matt Warnken made 10 saves in between the pipes.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, April 17th when they host Misericordia University in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
