Center Valley, PA (April 20, 2013) – Sophomores Ryan Rowse and Ryan Loughlin combined to score nine goals and three assists leading a dominating performance from the DeSales University men's lacrosse team in a 20-9 rout of FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon for the Bulldogs first-ever win over the Devils in 16 career meetings.

DSU (6-7, 2-2 Freedom) dominated from the very start out-shooting FDU (3-11, 1-3 Freedom) in every quarter and 48-26 for the game.  DeSales also held a 40-19 advantage in ground balls and won 20-of-32 face-offs, despite winning just 1-of-8 in the first quarter led by senior Brennan Gmeiner who took all 32 face-offs for the Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs also had just two failed clears in 19 attempts, while FDU failed on seven of 18 attempts.

The first quarter was back-and-forth as the Bulldogs held a slim 4-3 advantage at the end of the first 15 minutes and continued to lead by one (5-4) when they scored five straight goals to take a 10-4 lead with Rowse and Loughlin having a hand in all but one of those five straight tallies.

FDU finished the quarter strong with two straight goals to cut margin down to four, but two straight goals to start the third quarter gave the momentum back to the Bulldogs and they never looked back from there outscoring FDU 10-3 in the second-half.

Rowse led all scorers with five goals and two assists for seven points.  Loughlin added four goals and one assist and senior Jarrod Wiedow finished with four goals.  Senior James Guerrier totaled one goal and had four assists and junior Chalie Wilmer and sophomore Lance Bracale each had one goal and three assists.

Rounding out the scorers for the Bulldogs were sophomore Nate Blevins, junior Jacob Bernier, senior Billy Marsh, and freshman Rob Hopkins all with one goal each.

Gmeiner finished with 12 ground balls and freshman Matt Warnken totaled nine saves in between the pipes.

DSU returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to King's College in a very important Freedom Conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
