Center Valley, PA, (November 7, 2014) – The DeSales University women's soccer team will play in its first-ever Freedom Conference championship game on Saturday hosting Misericordia University at 1:00 pm following a 1-0 win over King's College in the semifinals.
The Bulldogs will enter the game with a 10-5-4 overall record after a 6-0-1 mark in the Freedom Conference. DSU earned the top seed after finishing tied at the top with Misericordia University by virtue of its three-goal win over Delaware Valley College (the #3 seed) with the Cougars defeating the Aggies by just two goals. MU enters Saturday's game with a 16-2-1 overall mark and a 6-0-1 record in the Freedom.
There will be admission for the event with ticket prices set at $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students. All DeSales students with a valid school ID will be admitted for FREE. All children under the age of six will also be admitted for free.

DeSales/Misericordia All-Time Series:Misericordia owns a 9-1-1 lead in the all-time series between the two teams. DSU earned the tie this season with the Cougars and its lone win came during the 2008 season, 4-0. Today is the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the post-season and the Bulldogs are 1-4-1 all-time vs. the Cougars at home.

Michelle Churchman was terrific in net making 10 saves for DeSales.
DeSales in the Freedom Conference post-season:This is DeSales fourth career appearance in the conference post-season and the first since the 2008 season. DSU earned its first-ever Freedom Conference Tournament game win on Wednesday vs. King's and is now 1-3 all-time in the Freedom post-season.
About the Bulldogs:Walsh leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 16 goals and three assists for 35 points…she is two goals shy of tying the single-season record for goals (18) and four points shy of tying the single-season record for points (39)…Walsh became just the second player in team history to record 100+ career points earlier this season and enters Wednesday's game with 108 career points…Wetherhold is second in scoring with three goals and seven assists despite missing the first eight games of the year with a leg injury…she is one assist shy of tying the single-season mark (8) and the Bulldogs are 8-1-2 overall in games that she has played…overall 13 different players have scored a goal for the Bulldogs this season…defensively DSU has seen three of its four defenders start all 19 games including sophomore
