Late Rally Lifts Clark past Bulldogs, 10-9

Clearwater, FL (March 5, 2014) – Clark University scored three goals over the final 1:42 turning a 9-7 deficit into a 10-9 win spoiling the DeSales University men's lacrosse first game on the Bulldogs spring trip down to Florida on Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs (0-2) led the entire game and after a goal from senior James Guerrier with 6:33 left in the fourth quarter had a 9-7 lead.  Both teams went scoreless until the 1:42 mark of the final period with Clark made it a one-goal game.  Clark tied the game with 35 seconds left and then got the game-winner with just eight seconds left for the first lead of the game.

Junior Ryan Rowse led the Bulldogs with two goals and two assists, while junior Ryan Loughlin added three goals and Guerrier finished with two goals and an assist.  Junior Nate Blevins had a goal and an assist, freshman Justin Wilson tallied his first career goal, and junior Dylan Baxter had an assist.

Sophomore Matt Warnken turned away 14 shots in between the pipes and Baxter won 11 face-offs and picked up a team-high six ground balls for the Bulldogs.

DSU returns to action on Thursday when they face St. John Fisher College in Clearwater, FL beginning at 1:00 pm.
