Annville, PA (November 9, 2021) - Junior
Tyra Wingle highlighted a list of four DeSales University field hockey players honored on the All-MAC Freedom team announced by the conference office and as voted on by the eight MAC Freedom coaches.
Wingle was named to the First-Team and was joined by sophomore
Maddie Trocki, junior
Grace DeThomas, and senior
Olivia Witmer on the Second-Team.
Wingle earns All-Conference honors for the second time in her career after earning Honorable-Mention honors as a first-year student. She led DeSales in scoring with 13 goals and seven assists for 33 points, including three game-winning goals. Wingle ranked tied for first in the MAC Freedom in goals scored and was first overall in total points with 33.
Witmer earns Second-Team honors for the third time in her career. A four-year starter on defense, Witmer has been the leader of a defense throughout her career. This season she had one assist and one defensive save.
Trocki and DeThomas each earn All-Conference honors for the first time in their careers. Trocki ranked fifth in the MAC Freedom with 12 goals scored and was third in the conference in scoring with 29 total points. DeThomas was a stalwart in the defensive midfield, totaling a MAC Freedom leading nine defensive saves on the year and added five goals and two assists on the offensive end.
