Reading, PA (November 19, 2008) –
Senior Ed Lapinski (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) had his second double-double in as many games with 22 points and 10 rebounds leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past PSU-Berks, 87-59, in another road win for the Bulldogs.

DeSales improves to 2-0 overall, while the Nittany Lions fall to 0-2 to start the year. DSU controlled the entire game, never trailing in the victory. The Bulldogs enjoyed a 48-34 edge on the glass, shot 49.2 percent from the field, committed just 10 turnovers, and connected on 11 three-pointers in the win.

The first half was a methodical opening 20 minutes with three separate 5-0 DSU runs contributing to a 14-point halftime lead for the visitors. Berks opened the second half with a bucket to cut the lead down to 12 points, but a 14-0 run over the next five minutes gave DeSales a 26-point advantage putting the game away. Junior Darnell Braswell (Allentown, PA/William Allen) led the way with four points in the spurt as five different players scored icing the game.

Lapinski's double-double is the seventh of his career as he shot 8-for-14 from the field and connected on two treys in the win. Braswell added 13 points and pulled down five boards, while senior Matt Zwetolitz (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) shot 4-for-5 from the field and finished with 10 points.

Sophomore Brian Hunter (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) had five assists and no turnovers, while a pair of freshmen, Matt McManus (Malvern, PA/Malvern Prep) and Bob Zanneo (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) led the charge off the bench with seven points each.

The Bulldogs continue on the road on Tuesday, November 25th as the trips keep getting shorter before the home opener on Sunday, November 30th, as DSU will take on local rival Moravian College beginning at 8:00 pm.
