Bulldogs Smash 45 Kills in 3-0 Win over Arcadia

Freshman Justine McNulty continued her solid play with four killls, 28 assists, and 12 digs on Saturday.

Center Valley, PA (October 3, 2009) – The DeSales University volleyball team finished with 45 kills and .340 for the match in a 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-13) win over Arcadia University in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

DSU had just nine errors in 106 attack attempts and also totaled six service aces in the win. The Bulldogs have now won six straight and improve to 11-6 overall on the year. Arcadia hit just .045 for the match and falls to 7-7 overall on the season.

Leading the attack was junior Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and freshman Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) with nine kills each. Senior Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) finished with eight kills and sophomore Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) also had eight kills in the win.

Freshman Justine McNutly (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) continued her solid play with four kills, 28 assists, and 12 digs, while senior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) added five service aces and 14 digs in the win.

DSU returns to action on Monday, October 5^th when they take their six-game winning streak on the road at Philadelphia Biblical University for a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
