Center Valley, PA (May 1, 2011) – It was the final home game for the DeSales University softball team's four seniors and junior Brianna Chilcoat did her part to make sure they left with two wins, ripping three doubles on the day including a two-run double in game one leading the Bulldogs past York College (PA), 2-0 and 3-2, in a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

Seniors Jen Lococo, Kate Steiner, Kristin Schultz, and Sharon Yudt all appeared in the their last regular season home doubleheader this afternoon, looking to give DSU (21-11 overall) its fourth straight and sixth overall 20-win season and did just that with two wins over the visiting Spartans (19-19 overall).

In the opener, Lococo took a perfect game into the fifth and finished with a two-hit shutout, her second in as many days, to earn her ninth win of the season and the 44th victory of her career in the circle. Lococo struck out one and did not issue a walk as just two Spartans reached base in the game one win.

Chilcoat provided all the run support Lococo needed ripping a two-out, two-run double to left-center in the second inning, plating freshman Cassie Wagman and sophomore Courtney McKenna. McKenna and Chilcoat each had two hits in the win.

In the second game, DSU took an early 2-0 lead on RBI singles from junior Christine Petrilla and Steiner before York battled back to tie the game at two in the third inning. Still tied at two in the bottom of the fifth, sophomore Julie Brugger came thru knocking in Lococo with a two-out single up the middle after Lococo reached base after being hit by a pitch three batters earlier.

Petrilla earned the win in the circle pitching three shutout innings of relief, striking out two after junior Katie Morrissey had tossed the first four innings allowing just three hits and two unearned runs, striking out one. Steiner had two more hits and stole two bases, while Chilcoat had her third double of the afternoon in the game two win.

DSU returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Montclair State University for a non-conference doubleheader in preparation for the Freedom Conference playoffs which begin on Friday morning at King's College.
