Annville, PA (March 17, 2012) – The DeSales University softball team dropped two games on Saturday afternoon falling to host Lebanon Valley College, 6-0, and SUNY-Cortland, 8-0, in two non-conference games played at LVC on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
In the first game, DSU (2-8 overall) managed just one hit, a single from freshman
Taylor Kelly, while Cortland exploded for six runs in the second inning to open up a 7-0 lead and never looked back from there. Senior
Katie Morrissey took the loss allowing five runs over one inning pitched, walking five, and allowing just one hit.
In the second game, LVC scored three times in the first and sixth innings to earn the win. The Bulldogs have five hits including doubles from both T. Kelly and senior
Shelly McCarthy in the loss. Senior
Christine Petrilla suffered the loss allowing six runs over six innings, striking out three.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Thrusday, March 22nd when they travel to Montclair State University for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
